Short Curriculum

Tomas Macek is presently working at the Czech Technical University, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Department of Computer Science and Engineering. He is teaching courses of Neural Networks and Algorithms and Programming for both English and Czech track students. He also taught several other courses in past e.g. Computer Technology or Hardware for Computer Graphics.

His research interest are the neural networks and parallel computers. He is author of several scientific papers published in abroad.

Tomas Macek was among the second year Excalibur scholars (1994-1995). He spent Excalibur period by research at the University of York. He worked on a research project investigating the techniques of parallel implementation of the Advanced Distributed Associative Memories. His stay was sponsored by Amstrad.

He was visiting professor at the North Hennepin Collage, Minnesota, U.S.A., in 1997, teaching algorithms and programming in C.

He worked at L'Ecole Nationale Superieure des Mines de Saint Etienne, France in 1993, developing the software for evaluation of the X-ray measurements and software for parallel simulation of neural networks.

He worked part time at Velorex research group in 1988-1990. He was responsible for both hardware and software development of several microcomputer applications.

He graduated in Electrical Engineering in 1990, the Czech Technical University.

Tomas Macek likes various sports e.g. table tennis, running, biking, weight training, occasionally also parachuting. Hi also likes playing recorder.
