Short Curriculum

Mr. Jiri Nerad is currently finishing his PhD project at the Czech Technical University of Prague, his research being focused on non-standard applications of CAD tools in electronic circuit design.

As an Excalibur scholar in 1994-95, sponsored by Vodafone Plc, he took a MPhil by research course at the University of Sheffield, where he developed a very high-speed operational amplifier for medical purposes.

Before entering the Excalibur scheme, Mr. Nerad graduated from the Czech Technical University with an Ing. (M.Sc. equivalent) degree in Radio Engineering, and, having focused on Digital Audio Broadcasting, shortly worked in an expert team established to help introduce this technology in the Czech Republic.

His major interests include long-distance swimming and playing both the classical and bass guitar; for two years, he was a bass guitar player in a swing dancing band.
