Short Curriculum

Mr. Michal Pěchouček starts this academic year as an assistant lecturer at the group of Artificial Intelligence at Czech Technical University in Prague where his field of research includes primarily Expert Systems, Decision-Making Systems, Knowledge Engineering, Proof Planning and Philosophical issues of Artificial Intelligence. Mr. Pěchouček also consults for ProTyS, the leading Czech information technology firm where, as a knowledge architect, he supervises the Czech-French-Swiss EUREKA PVS`98, the television trasmitters manufacturing process analysis project.

Mr. Pěchouček's previous assignments included expert system design for CompAir Reavell, the leading UK compressor manufacturer, IT consulting with Bonebakker, the Dutch IT training company, and software evaluation for Rockwell International.

Mr. Pěchouček was a third year Excalibur scholar. He spent his Excalibur studies at University of Edinburgh, Department of Artificial Intelligence, where he was awarded a M.Sc. in IT: Knowledge Based Systems degree in 1996. Excalibur sponsor: Siebe Plc.

In his rare free moments, Mr. Pěchouček enjoys mountain-related sports. As others Excaliburs he is a keen skier, he likes hiking and both rock and ice climbing. He also enjoys down-river-going, cycling and jogging. He appreciates good pieces of architecture, good European film-makers, and Scottish malt shovel.
