Lubor Veleba

Short Curriculum

Mr. Lubor Veleba is presenty working at Hex Capital, the leading independent Czech investment banking firm. In his position as Associate in Corporate Finance, since joining in 1997, his responsibilities involve Mergers and Acquisitions related mandates with international clients.

Mr. Veleba formerly worked at CzechInvest, the government agency responsible for attracting foreign investment, where he advised foreign manufacturers on entry into the Czech Republic. After two years of working in CzechInvest's Prague office, he established the London office, CzechInvest's first overseas operation. Mr. Veleba was a member of the team that mediated several investments in the Czech Republic, including Panasonic's USD 66 million investment into a television manufacturing facility. Previously, he undertook consulting assignments with ABB and Philips Semiconductors.

Mr. Veleba was among the founding Excalibur scholars. He spent his Excalibur period at City University Business School where he was awarded Master in Business Administration degree in 1994. Excalibur sponsor: Philips Semiconductors Limited.

Mr. Veleba is a keen skier. He also enjoys the odd game of tennis but still only dreams about reaching the level of his compatriot Ivan Lendl.
