INTRODUCTION

Congratulations! You and your friends have been elected as the curators of the one year of the Czech History Museum. The Museum has the following rooms so far:

·        The Politics Room

·        The Science Room

·        The Music Room

·        The Room of your choice.

TASK

Get into groups of  three or four.

Here are your tasks:

  1. Create the timeline of Czech History. In your group decide which events should be on the timeline and why. Compare it with the other groups.

  1. On this timeline choose the year you would like to present in your Museum.

  1. Identify people and events of importance in the year(s) you have chosen. If necessary, add more rooms to the Museum.

Find websites that demonstrate your interpretation of these events.

  1. Write a few sentences about the event.

  1. Classify your events into major subject categories and choose 10-15 to include in the final project. Think of an interesting title.

  1. Use some of the resources below or reference books and identify key events that occured during the year you are researching.

7.   Prepare a PowerPoint presentation for the year(s) you have chosen.

CONCLUSION

I hope, that by doing this WebQuest, you have learned a bit more about the Czech History and found some interesting websites you will be able to use in your work.

Now it is time to think about how you were working. How easy was it to find the information on the Internet about the subject that interested you? How did you work as a team? How do you evaluate your teamwork? Did you take an active part in the project activities ? How did your cooperation work? What year would you add to the Museum?

Past is everywhere around, it influences the present. The Czech nation has a rich history, so a virtual history museum will help you go step by step through centuries.
