The historical nucleus of the castle was formed by 2 tetragonal towers connected with a residential palace. In the 16th
the century rennaissance Pluhovský Palace was added to
the Gothic part.
In later times the towers were changed and their original defensive function was gradually changed.
In the 18th century a baroque chatteau was built near the castle wich is open to the public.
The Bečov castle is to house, among other present valuables, the St. Maurus Reliquary, representing a gem of European importance.
