The majority consists of:
1) Bohemian and Moravian folk-songs performed either in folklore way together with singing or in ordinary concert way only for hearing
2) early Czech and Prague songs
3) world-wide known evergreens
4) concert arrangements of classical masterpieces
We play and sing by heart to approach the audience and capture its mood and spirit the most possible way.
Mgr. Lubomír Píša - violin, singing, graduated on Pedagogical Faculty of Charles University in course of pedagogy and music education. He privately studied violin play at the conservatory, classical singing at conservatory by prof. Hampel. He gained a playing experience in State Prague Ensemble of Songs and Dances, Barrandov Film Symphonic Orchestra and a singing experience in Kuhnov Mixed Ensemble, State Prague Opera. He holds another ten-year experience in current Early Czech Duet performing especially in gastronomy facilities, hotels and so on.
Mgr. Roman Malý - accordion, singing, graduated both at Pilzen State Conservatory in course of organs and accordion at Janaček Academy of Musical Arts. He is the winner of many domestic and foreign competitions in playing the organ and accordion. At the present time he teaches at J. Deyl Conservatory for eye-handicapped youth and he is active in various folklore ensembles, but largely of course in Early Czech Duet.
Staročeské duo, or Early Bohemian Duet (violin and accordion) with a possibility to extend to three or four members (contrabass or clarinet respectively) has a musical experience of approximately twelve years and made an impression by individual performance during its appearances (independent concerts, concerts accompanied by folklore dancing, jubilee celebrations, weddings, performances in entertainment places, restaurants and hotels, company celebrations, sit-downs by the glass of wine...) on both domestic and foreign audience. The duet does play not only a broad range of folk-songs from Bohemia and Moravia but the songs of all genres to hear, to dance and at audience option, as well.
