Tonda Novotný      Surreal poetry without words                                                 back                                                                               kontakt

One man show:  I.„WEAR TROUSERS QUIET“, One maintains his or her sound reasoning by believing in the secret. Until s/he has a secret, s/he has health. When the secret is destroyed, one falls a victim to morbidity. One foot always fixed firmly to the ground, the other walking in the realm of fairies. Man keeps the freedom to question the existence of his gods but also retains the freedom to believe in them. He can understand everything through what he fails to understand. A logician, on the other hand, is trying to squeeze the heaven into his head. And what breaks is the head.

With my performance II.„WHAT IS WHITE DOG’S SHIT REALLY MEANT TO BE FOR“ The performance consist of several  absurd and  surrealisticpoems with elements of black humor. I participated in festivals in Perigueux (France) and Aarschot (Belgium), last year.

A well-known mime couple: Novotny & Uhlir are offering the following two performances: The first one is a full-length mime performance called III.„A SUITE FOR A BAND, A FORGOTTEN RUGBY BALL AND A MIME VOICE“

The second performance IV.„GOOD ROOSTERS NEVER GET THIN“ is designed for an open-air stage.
Both performances are based on colour contrasts and surprising moments which are transmitted through the subconscious. The plays are inspired by Old-Testament verses which may be explained by the following motto: „I am hiding but nobody is looking for me“. The universally understandable humour is brightened by typical Czech abstract pictures in the spirit of the cosmology of the Czech painter Kupka.
